30(well, 31) Stars of Craziness Wrap-Up

Sunday, April 8th, 2012

Well here it is.. the final product of all 30 stars of my video work.. I think I’ll just go in order of the ones that I did. So, this few weeks, although a lot of work, was both entertaining to watch everyone’s creations and fun to do my own. I’ve never done any video anything so it was a new process for me and I learned a lot of new tricks. I even decided to do my final project on video work 🙂

So, on to the videos…!

The Proposal in the olden days

I attempted a silent movie film but encountered some problems.

Numa Numaness

Saturday, April 7th, 2012

Since no one else seemed brave enough to do my Numa Numa assignment, I figured I’d give it a go. Granted, I did not do the whole song, but I still did it. Some of the parts were super hard to sing along with because it is NOT english haha. I had no idea how to pronounce the words I was reading, but it was still fun. I listened to the song in my headphones and just sang and danced along. I used my laptop to record the video, which is why the quality is not great, then I downloaded the song and just added it back to the video.

I hate it when people stalk me..

Audio redubbing.. harder than it looks.. but I took a crack it.

I decided to pick the scene from A Walk to Remember where Jamie tells Landon that she’s sick. I decided to make him a stalker and have her telling him she wants him gone kind of feel. It took awhile to think of what to say and it actually took wayyyy longer to even select a movie and a clip to redub. I used soundcloud to record and audacity to line up the times when they spoke instead of trying to do the audio moving in Windows Live Movie Maker. I started with it there and when I’d split my tracks some audio would disappear. Some parts don’t line up as well as I’d liked but I took long enough on this that I decided I needed to move on. First I’ll show you the redub, then I’ll show the real video.

What what in the butt? Who on earth thought to create this.. It’s weird I tell you, WEIRD! We added this video to a genre that we titled “Inappropriate for church, but only church”

So, here’s what I’m talking about..

What is that you say? An attempt at kinetic typography haha

This was one of the most complicated things that I’ve done and it’s only 16 seconds -_-

Well the hardest part was trying to use Adobe After Effects on my laptop, probably would’ve run better on a desktop. But what I did..

Oh Nicholas Sparks..

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

One archetype, five movies, five seconds.

So I decided to go with movie kisses.. And what better movies to choose than ones adapted from Nicholas Sparks’ books. On youtube, I found the clips of kisses from the movies:

1) A Walk to Remember

2) Dear John

3) Nights in Rodanthe

4) The Notebook

5) The Last Song

After downloading and converting the videos, I put all the clips into Windows Live Movie Maker and trimmed them all so the total time would be 5 seconds. I then decided to add a song.. I was going to go more peaceful but then I decided that Keith Urban’s “Kiss a Girl” fit perfectly and since it was already on my computer, all I had to do was trim a 5 second segment out.

I had fun with this assignment and I’m happy with the way it came out.

So, here it is…

A different interpretation…

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

While working on the movie trailer mashup assignment, after watching movie trailers and trying to think of what I could do, I had the brilliant idea to take the trailers of two different films, one just the video and one just the audio, from the same movie series and play it off as if they actually go together. I decided on Harry Potter! What I did..

Trying to analyze a movie.. fail

For my video essay,

I decided to do P.S. I love you because I love the movie and thought it would be easy to talk about.

My first ever video editing!
